Job Requirements/qualifications:

  • Language Level CLB Level 5 or IELTS 5/4/5/5
  • Completion of High School or other graduate degree
  • Minimum 3 years of commercial cooking experience with Indian Cuisine.  Cooking experience needs to have been in a restaurant or hotel setting.
  • Experience as head cook required
  • Experience cooking Indian traditional dishes of Gujarati cuisines, North Indian Cuisines and with experience of preparing Gujarati Thali preferred

Job Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook meals, specialty food and dishes
  • Prepare a schedule for kitchen helpers
  • Supervise supporting kitchen staff
  • Oversee overall kitchen operation; maintain food, supplies and equipment inventories
  • Oversee buffets and help supporting kitchen staff set it up
  • Practice hygiene and safety methods as per Canadian Health Standards
  • Ensure cleanliness
