The Department of Kinesiology and Applied Health at The University of Winnipeg invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. Candidates will have earned a Ph.D. prior to the start date of the appointment with expertise in the area of Motor Control as it relates to human movement. This may include areas of research such as: motor behaviour, motor development, and/or the neural/physiological aspects of movement. The successful candidate will demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level and strong potential for an active research program. Candidates’ research will combine both fundamental scientific inquiry and applied work to enhance human health and/or performance. They may utilize a variety of experimental approaches, but their research program should be primarily human based.
The successful candidate will teach courses in the department’s undergraduate program. They will establish and maintain an active externally-funded research program. As well, the successful candidate will participate in departmental and university service, and will work cooperatively and collegially with fellow department members.
The selection committee will begin reviewing applications on January 17, 2020 and will continue until the position is filled; full consideration is assured for applications received by Wednesday, January 15, 2020. Subject to budgetary approval, this position will commence July 1, 2020. Salary levels will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
