The University of Winnipeg is seeking an experienced, motivated professional to take on the role of Director of Student Recruitment.

Reporting to the Provost & Vice- President, Academic, the Director is responsible for policy development, human resource management, and strategic marketing plans to enhance overall student recruitment and retention of both domestic and international undergraduate students at the University.

The Director will work in a productive, collaborative and consultative capacity as part of the Provost & Vice-President, Academic team, and will be responsible for input to the overall University Strategic Enrolment Plan as it pertains to student recruitment.  The incumbent will prepare policy options, strategies and briefings with regard to future directions and current practices of student recruitment.

The Director of Student Recruitment travels to various countries and within Canada to represent The University of Winnipeg.

The position will act as a primary contact on behalf of the University to negotiate student exchange agreements with national and international universities. In addition, they will provide strategic leadership, and conduct confidential negotiations on national and international contractual arrangements with individuals, government, and non-government bodies.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a variety of cultural and educational settings, and a successful track record in the area of domestic and international student recruitment and retention.  A post-secondary degree as well as experience with marketing of universities, strategic and operational planning, contract design and negotiation, and international travel is expected.  Excellent oral and written communications skills along with demonstrated experience in managing and motivating staff are required; knowledge of a second language is a definite asset.
