This team is responsible for the administration and execution of bulk grain sales delivered by vessel to buyers. Tasks include preparation of contract-related documentation, coordination of vessel loading activities, negotiation with service providers and agencies, commercial invoicing, and associated accounting activities, all related to international and domestic grain sales.
This team is responsible for the day-to-day truck transportation activities for the network of Richardson Pioneer grain elevators in Western Canada and for our canola crushing plants in Yorkton, SK and Lethbridge, AB. Tasks include managing the truck order and billing processes for grain and fertilizers, identifying backhaul opportunities to manage truck freight costs, negotiating rates with trucking companies, and maintaining trucking service performance scorecards.
This team is responsible for the day-to-day rail transportation activities for the network of Richardson Pioneer elevators in Western Canada and for our canola crushing plants in Yorkton, SK and Lethbridge, AB. Tasks include developing the weekly sourcing plan from the elevators to meet the sales requirements, arranging railway service to and from our facilities, managing the railcar order and billing processes, expediting the movement of loaded and empty railcars between Richardson facilities and customers, and maintaining railway performance scorecards.
This team is responsible for administering and managing grain sale and purchase contracts and related logistics. Coordinators interact with commodity merchants, hedge desk and accountants to ensure that commodity purchase/sale positions are constantly updated and in balance, and to analyze freight arbitrage opportunities. Together with the rail, truck and marine team, coordinators ensure product is moved in a timely manner to meet contractual requirements, perform reporting to US and Canada Customs for trans-border moves, invoice customers for domestic grain sales, and manage associated accounting activities.
The ideal candidate should have a post secondary degree and 2 to 5 years experience in a transportation role, proven communication and organizational skills, and a strong focus on accuracy and detail. Grain industry knowledge will be considered a strong asset.
