As one of Canada’s leading handlers of grains and oilseeds, Richardson International has developed an extensive network of grain handling facilities in Western Canada and port terminals in both Western and Eastern Canada to move product into the domestic and global marketplace. Our port terminals are complemented by very effective logistical capabilities and the expertise of our grain merchandising team who are knowledgeable in ocean freight, foreign exchange, risk management, world crop conditions and international business practices.
We are looking for experienced merchants to continue to support our current business as well as to position us and assist us in our growth initiatives. As a company we have experienced tremendous growth in the past 5 years and are extremely optimistic about the future of agriculture and our continued growth within the industry. In order to build upon the successes we have experienced we realize the need to continue to position ourselves with highly qualified and competent staff.
Ideal candidates will have a Degree/Diploma in Agriculture or Business, a minimum of 3 – 5 years experience working in the Canadian grain industry coupled with excellent working knowledge of the Canadian grain handling system or commodity trading. Other attributes include proven risk management skills, excellent negotiation skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrated customer service focus, problem solving skills and the ability to anticipate and analyze trends and new opportunities in the marketplace.
