Reporting to the Plant Manager this position is responsible and accountable for the overall management of the Mill, Maintenance, PLW, Quality Assurance, Sanitation and Elevator departments via the department managers and supervisors.
Based in Portage La Prairie the Assistant Plant Manager will participate in developing the facility business, growth and sustainability strategy with plant management team. Motivating and managing staff through objectives, coaching and mentoring in regards to plant operations. The Assistant Plant Manager is responsible for meeting all plant and corporate objectives for safety, food safety, operational and financial performance. Collaborates with peers inside and outside the facility and represents Richardson Milling in a professional manner.
The successful candidate should possess a related degree with a minimum of five to seven (5-7) years of management experience in a food manufacturing facility or equivalent with a proven leadership record.
The Assistant Plant Manager must possess strong leadership skills, good presentation skills and be computer competent in Microsoft office. Requirements include the proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse range of peers, subordinates, internal resources, vendors, and suppliers, and they must be able to coach, lead, and develop staff in order to achieve desired organizational results. The Assistant Plant Manager will maintain effective working relationships and demonstrate excellent oral, written and listening communication skills.
