Please note: Minimum of 5 years experience as a CNC Machinist is required. Candidates without relevant experience will not be considered. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work within required safety practices and procedures as dictated by WCB legislation and established APM Safety Procedures
  • Set-up, operate and program Mazak CNC Lathes and Mills, consistently and efficiently producing quality machined parts from a variety of processes and with a variety of materials (Alloy Steels, Stainless, Cast Iron, Non-Ferrous and Super Alloys). This includes:
    • Making appropriate selection of tooling and inserts as well as properly programming the speed and feed rates according to MFG specifications 
    •  Performing first-ff inspections when requires and monitoring quality by taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming control while adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
    • Deburring and stamping of finished components as required 
    • Perform daily and frequent interval preventative maintenance activities on equipment to ensure the machines are running at optimum performance
  • Completing work orders, time-sheets and associated documents legibly and accurately 
  • Monitor machine output and record and report issues affecting production
  • Report to supervisors any requirements for tools, parts and supplies
  • Assist in calibration, preventative maintenance and equipment repairs if required
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness in the plant 
  • Provide timely and accurate feedback to the Shop Foreman, Lead Hands and other production personnel on the progress of assignments as required
