Position Summary


Performs shipping and receiving function and associated paperwork to ensure cost control. Accurately picks parts orders for branches or external customers based on information received on computerized pick ticket to ensure customer satisfaction.




  1. Receives product as required (checking product received to packing slip and generating a receiving record) and forwards emergency stock for customers (internal and external) and ensure freight cost is calculated and charged to customer. (50%)


Performance Coaching Standards

  • Accurate work completed on a timely basis
  • Receives stock in order of arrival
  • Ensures that no stock is missing or damaged
  • Makes claim with vendor or carrier for missing or damaged stock
  • Invoice amount charged to customer’s (by credit card, fleet charge account, or Maxim charge account) in the city
  • Emergency stock received by the customer by the promised deadline at the promised price
  • Provides correct freight cost to Parts Counter to invoice to the customer
  • Delivery driver has no confusion about the orders


  1. Picks parts based on customer generated pick ticket.  Places completed orders in branch bins or customer direct deliver section of warehouse.  Aisles are kept clean.  (25%)


Performance Coaching Standards

  • Parts are accurately picked
  • Parts Sales staff is notified when parts are not available on a timely basis.
  • Parts are placed in the correct location
  • Use Forklift correctly and safely to bring overstock down


  1. Consolidates orders going to same location and packages for shipping.  Loads and unloads couriers and delivery trucks from other branches. (15%)


Performance Coaching Standards

  • Products are accurately prepared for shipment by deadlines
  • Loads trucks with correct stock
  • No customer complaints regarding damaged product
  • Loads and unloads in a timely manner
  • Uses forklift when necessary for larger trucks


  1. Completes accurate associated paper work. For example, computer generated invoices for direct customer delivery or customer pick-up orders; creates packing slips for inter-branch transfers; completes credit card transactions for customers.  (5%)


Performance Coaching Standards

  • Accurate paperwork is completed when required
  • Over credit limit customers are dealt with in the prescribed method
  • Charges correct amount to the correct customer credit card or fleet charge account
  • Charges customer in a timely manner


  1. Records vendor invoices in Receiver spreadsheet when stock has arrived in the warehouse, posts the invoice on the spreadsheet, and print for Accounts Payables.  (5%)


Performance Coaching Standards

  • The spreadsheet is updated as soon as stock is received
  • Ensures the correct amount of stock is posted in the spreadsheet
  • Invoices placed in basket for Accounts Payable, no A/P complaints regarding missing invoices
  • No invoices are missed and all accounts are paid
  • Able to track invoices when required by Shipper/Receivers initials


  1. Other duties as assigned





Education & Experience:

  • 2 years of work experience, preferably in a related role
  • Experience in a fast paced work environment



  • Customer service focused
  • Attention to detail
  • Shows a learner attitude, initiative and diligence
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds without assistance
  • Basic computer experience with ability to learn in-house system
  • Forklift license or ability to achieve
  • Ability to be exposed to weather conditions off/on throughout the day, year-round
  • Ability to climb ladders preferred
  • Knowledge of Heavy-duty truck & trailer parts an asset
