Position Summary


Supervises daily warehouse operations to ensure the accurate, efficient, and safe distribution and placement of truck & trailer parts and to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.




  1. Analyzes product movement and ensures inventory is relocated to a more feasible area in the warehouse to facilitate faster moving & new products.  Also prepares for yearly inventory and special events. (10%)

  • Easy access of high demand product
  • Inventory pre-count sheets are used to ensure parts are bin located correctly
  • Assists with reorganization of showroom as required
  • Warehouse is organized and tidy


2.Inputs various data into spreadsheets and creates weekly reports for Assistant Parts Manager e.g. picking productivity, delivery vehicle truck mileage, and contractor hours.  Reconciles physical inventory with electronic records on an on-going and yearly basis e.g. “negative on hand” report.   Also sends daily paperwork received from staff (e.g. packing slips and waybills) to accounting for processing.  (10%)


Performance Coaching Standards

  • Physical and electronic inventory records reconciled with 2% to 5% variance
  • Reports completed by mutually agreed to deadline
  • Reports contain accurate information in an easy-to-read format
  • Associated paperwork is send to accounting on a daily basis



  1. Monitors daily inter-branch shipments.  (10%)


Performance Coaching Standards

  • Daily inter-branch orders are shipped according to schedule
  • Positive customer feedback    



  1. Investigates and resolves shipment errors and concerns with other Maxim branches and external customers.  (25%)

  • Concerns are prioritized and prompt response is given
  • Minimizes shipment errors through staff coaching and training
  • Positive customer feedback    


  1. Arranges for basic maintenance of forklifts and orders general warehouse supplies (e.g. shrink wrap, packing tape, and strapping).  (5%)


Performance Coaching Standards

  • Forklifts are maintained according to schedule and are safe to use
  • Warehouse supplies are ordered timely to ensure stock on hand at all time



  1. Supervises staff following Maxim’s Leadership principles. This includes: (40%)


  • Hiring the right staff and retaining them
  • Moving those staff to high performance by ensuring they have the correct skills and knowledge; communicating including providing standards and measuring performance and providing feedback; rewarding and creating the work environment to make them the most productive.


Performance Coaching Standards

  • Staff meet or exceed the requirements of their job as set out in their performance coaching goals
  • The correct number & types of positions are maintained
  • Attends Maxim Leadership training and adheres to those principles
  • Works within established company programs and guidelines (e.g. hiring, performance coaching system, salary/wage increases, supervisor’s handbook, etc.)
  • Staff requests are responded to within 2 working days
  • Staff learn from coaching so they do not repeat questions or errors
  • Completes annual staff training plan and ensure it takes place. Adjusts plans throughout year according to business needs.
  • General meetings for all staff are held at least monthly
  • The workplace is safe and clean. No preventable accidents occur. Maxim’s WPS&H guidelines are adhered to. Participates under the guidance of Human resources on all disability claims (e.g. WCB, STD, or LTD).



  1. Other duties as assigned.







Education & Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years experience in all aspects of a warehouse (order picking, shipping, receiving, dispatching, warranty, and inventory control) in a fast-paced environment
  • Previously supervised at least 5 employees
  • Valid forklift certificate preferred
  • Experience in the HD truck & trailer (or related) industry an asset

  • Strong problem solving and decision making skills
  • Organized, sets priorities, meets deadlines
  • Ability to lift 100 pounds without assistance
  • Basic computer skills with MS Excel and Outlook with ability to learn in-house system
  • Knowledge of Karmak business system an asset
