Reporting to the Merchandising Manager, the Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of rail and truck movement of commodities within our Ontario region. Based in our Hamilton office, this position will negotiate freight with carriers and focus on the execution of purchase and sale contracts. The incumbent will liaise with custom brokers to ensure correct documentation is placed for clearance of rail cars and trucks going to and from the U.S. and review the loading records to ensure that commodities were loaded within contractual terms.
The ideal candidate should have a degree or diploma in agriculture, or related post secondary education in logistics such as Logistics Trade Certificate or equivalent experience. Logistics or related grain industry knowledge and experience will be considered a strong asset. Key attributes include the ability to work as part of a team, strong planning and organizational skills, effective communication skills, analytical, excellent problem solving and decision-making skills, and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
