The Communications Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Director, Corporate Communications with the overall planning, development and implementation of internal and external communication initiatives and activities. This includes managing and maintaining Richardson International Limited external website and employee intranet, including writing, editing and posting content; planning, writing and editing for quarterly internal and external publications; creating marketing materials including brochures, templates and promotional items; responding to and supporting internal and external communication requests. Other responsibilities include media relations and event support; working with staff to coordinate public relations efforts to promote Richardson’s community donations; reviewing materials for consistency and adherence to brand standards and logo guidelines; liaising, managing and communicating with third party vendors and suppliers. Administrative duties include paying invoices, taking care of expenses, ordering supplies and administering and managing promotional item program and orders for all divisions.
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of two years work experience that demonstrates superior writing, research, editing and proofreading skills, working knowledge of a wide range of communications and marketing materials and best practices. A communications, journalism or marketing degree/diploma is preferred. Important skills include: excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Adobe Creative Suite; strong time management skills; ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines; strong verbal and written communication skills; and a professional approach and positive attitude with a willingness to learn new technologies. Graphic design skills, photo editing and print production experience would be considered an asset.
