We are looking for talented individuals to join the expanding Richardson team at our state-of-the-art canola seed processing and oil refining plant in Yorkton, SK. Yorkton is a thriving community that has grown with the addition of the Richardson plant and other community investments.
Reporting to the Manager, Control Systems this position is responsible for the design, detailing and execution of all instrumentation and engineering controls. Serving as a technical liaison with operations and maintenance departments, the successful candidate will be responsible for defining, measuring and executing optimization projects for process control.
Additional duties include providing training on process control strategies, automation and technical issues for production supervisors and operators supporting a 24/7 shift environment. The incumbent will also compile technical manuals, conduct failure analysis, investigate repetitive failures and make recommendations for remediation.
The ideal candidate will have an Engineering Technologist Certificate combined with 3 to 5 years related experience working with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), HMI (Human Machine Interface), VFD’s (Variable Frequency Drives), interpreting drawings and project coordination.
Additional requirements include a mechanical and electrical aptitude, the ability to multi-task and the ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, governmental regulations and procedure manuals and present the information effectively to employee groups, managers and clients. Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and project management principles is considered an asset.
