Under the direction of Director of Sales or designate, the Heavy Duty Aftermarket Sales Manager is responsible for sales to assigned Automotive OEM and or Heavy Duty OEMs along with specific Parts Marketing Groups at designated OEM customers. Conducts business in accordance with company practices & policies in order to promote Phillips & Temro Industries public image

 As the Heavy Duty Sales Manager, you will

  • Liaises with customers through cost managed business trips to their location, via telephone and correspondence to maintain cordial relations; to conduct sales and product meetings and promote sales of company products.
  • Develops new accounts, cultivates current accounts and promotes the best interests of the company through attendance at trade shows, association meetings, social functions, and calling on prospective customer.
  • Investigates complaints and product concerns liaises with appropriate company departments to ensure corrective action.  Must have close association and communication with Engineering and QA departments in this regard.
  • Liaises with Engineering regarding research of industry/competitor activities and new product developments; reports to Management.
  • Prepares quotations for customers, publishes new project development schedules, and ensures timely completion of travel expense and customer contact reports.
  • Assists finance in collection of delinquent accounts.
  • Responsible for the management of customer’s requests for marketing dollars by reviewing customer’s market penetration and marketing programs.
  • Consults with Engineering, Purchasing, Service and QA departments at OEM account level on existing and new product development.
  • Responsible for establishing effective communication network between customer and company concerning forecast and purchase order requirements.
  • Works closely with all other departments within the company to ensure that product design meets their expectations. (i.e. reliability, aesthetics, customer requirements, regulatory requirements etc.)
  • Keeps informed as to developments in competitive product offerings, and in material/manufacturing advancements as they apply to the company.
  • Provides technical assistance, with respect to product application, to internal and external marketing representatives and customers. 

You must possess:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal skills, including ability to resolve disputes and observe confidentiality.
  • Ability to use PC and widely used software packages, e.g., spreadsheets (Excel), word processing (MS Word), Lotus Notes.
  • Ability to learn new software packages as necessary.
  • Ability to meet deadlines; accomplish work in order of priority; professionally maintain composure and effectiveness under pressure and changing conditions.
  • Ability to learn new duties and adjust to new situations encountered on the job within a reasonable amount of time.
  • Ability to negotiate conflict and maintain constructive working relationships with people at all levels of an organization (both inside and outside the company).

Education:                                Technical or Business Degree from an accredited college or university
Experience:                               2-5 years progressive experience in Sales demonstrating strong problem-solvin

                                                    Previous experience working in the Automotive Aftermarket / OEM industry is a plus.
