Our biggest challenge currently is identifying and soliciting clients who require dry van service and who are not aware of TransX.

Job Description

TransX has an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Representative (Inside Sales) in our Winnipeg head office.

 As TransX’s dynamic Business Development Representative, your first mission will be to align yourself with our product and gain an in-depth knowledge on our value proposition vs. our competitors. Your knowledge of Internet transportation, marketing and technology will allow you to identify, attract, clients requiring dry van services.

This is a full-time position and responsibilities will include:

  • Initiating telephone and email contact with potential prospects from inbound leads generated through call lists, existing TransX data base, etc.
  • Generate new leads through B2B cold calling
  • Qualifying leads with the primary goal of determining if the prospect has a compelling reason to consider using TransX solutions
  • Reporting to and working with the Vice President of Corporate Sales to insure the smooth transition of information and feedback from generated leads for immediate follow up and face to face meetings
  • Use all available means to perform effective research in the initial development and ongoing maintenance of potential customers
  • Consistently meet inbound lead turn-around and follow-up requirements including pricing, account information being entered into CRM, etc
  • Consistently meet qualified lead totals on a monthly basis
  • Build in customer awareness of TransX services and products during every call


Qualifications / Prior Experience

  • Minimum 2+ years experience with successful lead generation and/or telemarketing for service based industry
  • Experience is in the transportation/logistics industry is preferred
  • Record of results - consistently met or exceeded lead qualification quotas
  • Previous work in a start-up or high growth environment
  • Must have prior CRM systems experience



  • Ability to connect with prospects without fail
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills and presentation skills
  • Excellent telephone and e-mail skills
  • Technology and Internet savvy
  • Ability to understand basics of transportation quickly (if no prior experience in industry)
  • Highly organized, self-directed business style, with strong ability to prioritize

Bachelor's degree is preferred
