PURCHASER

Reporting to the Manager, Supply Chain this role is responsible for purchasing services and materials that will best maximize efforts to achieve Company and departmental goals and objectives. The incumbent will ensure an uninterrupted supply of those services and materials to meet production schedules, and control material costs through innovation and partnerships with suppliers.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Purchasing and scheduling materials for arrival to meet daily and weekly production schedules.
  • Obtain and manage supply and materials management contracts that hold cost within related operational budgets.
  • Determine type/quantities of service/materials required to meet production volumes – schedule and co-ordinate delivery from suppliers.
  • Generate Purchase Orders, and process requisitions in order to provide materials to meet production plans and to replenish inventory levels.
  • Monitor inventory control for warehouse; packaging, ingredients and operating materials and adjust inventory levels to best match sales forecasts and processing plant requirements.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to provide a consistent and timely flow of best-price and best-quality materials into Richardson Oilseed Limited.

The ideal candidate will have experience in business, sales or purchasing and posses post-secondary education in a related field.  Key attributes include the ability to work as part of a team, effective communicator, strong planning and organizational skills, analytical, excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
