Job Description

TransX has an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Supervisor to join our Winnipeg head office.  The A/R Supervisor is responsible for the success of the Accounts Receivable team. 

To ensure success of the team, the AR Supervisor is accountable for; selecting, training, scheduling, coaching and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraisals, recommending compensation, adhering to policy and procedure.

Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing a team of AR Analysts to collect on past due accounts
  • Ensures attention is given to overpayments and duplicate payments
  • Timely and consistent monitoring of the AR Analysts to ensure receivables are managed and customer commitments to pay are met
  • Track and report department metrics of performance
  • Manage the assignment of accounts to outside collection agency, manage filing of bankruptcies claims
  • Collect accounts by contacting customers escalated by AR Analysts, investigate root cause of non-payment and short payment, negotiate and resolve conflicts to expedite payment
  • Maintains financial security by adhering to internal department controls

 

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will be a motivated and conscientious team leader capable of working in a dynamic and fast paced environment.  The successful candidate MUST HAVE a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience, experience in the Transportation industry and the following skills and abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability in creating and recruiting a team
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of accounting procedures and account reconciliation
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Enjoy working under pressure in a demanding and time sensitive work environment
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Passion for customer service
  • Ability to take initiative and action quickly
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and projects at the same time

Experience with Great Plains and TMW Systems Software is considered a definite asset.
