Assistant Manager, Merchandising Career Opportunity!

Ashley Furniture HomeStore is currently looking for an Assistant Manager, Merchandising for our Calgary South Store located at 88 Heritage Gate SE.

Reporting to the Manager, Merchandising you will be responsible for the visual presentation of the store to ensure the best possible layout and merchandising of product to maximize sales.

 Your main responsibilities are to:

  • Assists with the planning and implementation of the visual presentation direction from corporate office
  • Provides resource support to advertising
  • Ensures merchandise displays are neat, tidy and maintained to brand visual standards
  • Receives, tags and puts out accessories for display
  • Maintains inventory control and available stock levels on store floor
  • Performs all necessary administrative tasks related to role
  • Assists in event promotions and sets up point of purchase displays
  • Ensures advertised merchandise is correctly marked
  • Keep updated records of storage locations, available inventory and open transfer reports

Successful candidates will have the following: 

  • High school diploma
  • 1-2 years of visual merchandising or related experience; or combination of education and related experience
  • Demonstrated talent for design, balance and colour
  • Able to work independently
  • High attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal skills with strong communication abilities
  • Good computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and ability to learn in-house computer programs
  • Able to work retail hours (weekdays, evenings and weekends)
  • Some travel may be required
